Auralift

Privacy policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026

1. Who we are

Auralift is an Android audio utility operated by Jamie Wardle trading as AuraForge Labs. This operator is responsible for the personal information that we handle as described below. “Auralift”, “we” and “us” refer to that operator. Full provider details, including the geographic business address, are available on Auralift’s Google Play listing: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamiewardle.auralift

Contact us about privacy or support at auraforgelabssupport+auralift@gmail.com.

This policy covers the public Google Play edition of Auralift. The separate Owner test edition excludes billing and advertising SDKs and has no internet permission; its audio processing, preferences and terms record remain local. User-initiated email and file exports use your selected external provider. Google and other providers also process information through their own services, as explained below.

2. Audio processing and device permissions

Auralift applies supported Android audio effects on your device. Its audio engine does not upload your listening audio to us or record conversations. We do not operate an Auralift audio-storage server.

The optional visualiser uses Android’s audio visualisation facilities. Android requires the permission named “Record audio” for this feature. Auralift uses it to display sound information from the audio output; it does not use this feature to make microphone recordings. Visualisation data is handled temporarily in memory while the visualiser is being used and is not saved or sent to us.

Other permissions support audio controls, the active-service notification, optional notifications and vibration, and the optional player displayed over other apps. The floating player can remain visible with boost stopped; displaying it does not give us a recording of your screen or the contents of other apps. The optional restart reminder uses a device-start event to offer a reminder, rather than automatically starting an audio session.

You can manage permissions in Android settings. Refusing an optional permission affects its associated feature, rather than requiring you to grant every permission to use the app.

3. Settings, profiles and other information on your device

Auralift keeps settings such as your audio adjustments, appearance, saved profiles, output setups and timer preferences in app storage. It also stores information needed to remember purchase access and the expiry of an Ad Pass. We do not receive these settings through an Auralift account or cloud-sync service; the app has neither.

When you choose Agree and continue, Auralift stores the accepted terms version, the language and a fingerprint identifying the exact document, the app version and version code, and the date/time reported by your device. The record stays in private local storage, is excluded from backup, and is not sent to us or to advertising or analytics services. It remembers your choice; it does not verify your identity or the accuracy of the device clock. A later acceptance replaces the local record, and clearing app data or uninstalling removes it.

You can save a copy of the terms or privacy policy using Android’s file picker. The saved document does not include your acceptance record. Your chosen destination provider may use cloud storage.

The app disables its normal Android app-data backup. Profiles you choose to export are separate files. Your selected file or cloud-storage provider determines where those exports are stored and who can access them. Uninstalling Auralift does not delete exported files from those locations.

The public edition also keeps local dates and counts of qualifying listening days to space occasional Google Play rating and update prompts. These timing records stay on your device and are not sent to us. We do not use them to screen your opinion or record the rating you give.

4. Purchases and Google Play

Google Play handles checkout and payment details. Auralift receives purchase information needed to verify and restore access, such as the product, purchase state, purchase token and signed purchase record. A copy is stored privately on your device to help recognise your access when offline. We do not receive your full payment-card details from the app.

If you contact us about a purchase, we may use your message, Google Play order reference and available order information to investigate. Google Play may make transaction information available to us in its developer tools, including order status, amount and buyer contact information where provided. We use this for purchase support, refunds, fraud prevention and required records.

Google also processes information when providing its billing and store services under its own policies. Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy)

Google Play also handles optional in-app ratings and app updates. If you submit a review, Google processes the review under its own policies; a published review may be visible to other people and to us on the store. Google handles update availability, downloads and installation. Auralift does not receive your star rating through the in-app review API or operate its own update server.

5. Optional rewarded advertising

You can choose to watch a rewarded advertisement to obtain a temporary Ad Pass where this option is available. An advert is not required to use the free audio features. Choosing to watch an advert is separate from any privacy choices requested by the consent form.

After you accept the app terms, Auralift may contact Google’s consent service on launch to determine which advertising privacy choices apply and make those choices available in Settings, including for eligible US users who have never requested an Ad Pass. When you request an Ad Pass, the service obtains or refreshes the applicable choices and shows a consent form when required. The app requests adverts only when its consent checks allow this and you use the Ad Pass feature.

Google’s advertising SDK can collect and share IP addresses, approximate location inferred from IP, app and advert interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account-related identifiers where available. Google describes uses including advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Adverts and measurement may involve Google and advertising partners identified in the applicable consent information. Google advertising SDK disclosure (https://developers.google.com/admob/android/next-gen/privacy/play-data-disclosure) · How Google uses information from partner apps (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites)

Where offered, use the app’s advertising privacy options to review or change choices. Android also provides advertising-identifier controls. Refusing or withdrawing consent may affect the availability or type of adverts and Ad Pass, but does not remove the free audio features. Non-personalised advertising can still involve data processing.

Buying Pro removes the need to use rewarded ads. It does not retrospectively erase information already received by Google or other advertising providers, remove their SDK code from the installed app, or guarantee that a previously initialised SDK immediately stops all background activity.

6. Feedback, email and quality reports

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments or other information you send. Our support mailbox is hosted by Google. Please send only information needed to explain the issue, and do not send passwords, full card details or unnecessary sensitive information.

The Feedback & support feature prepares an email draft addressed to auraforgelabssupport+auralift@gmail.com. You review the draft in your email app and decide whether to send it. It includes feedback details and the app version; optional diagnostics can add device, Android and audio-configuration information. An attachment is included only if you choose one. Your selected email provider handles the transmission. The app does not silently upload that feedback to us.

Google may separately make Android quality information available through Play Console, including crash and performance reports collected under the user’s Google/Android settings. This is distinct from an Auralift feedback message. The reviewed app does not contain a separate developer-operated analytics or crash-reporting service. 7. Why we use personal information

Where UK data-protection law applies to our handling of personal information, we use the following bases:

Purpose | Basis

Providing purchased access and necessary purchase support | Performance of our contract with you

Handling general enquiries, investigating problems and preventing misuse | Legitimate interests in supporting users and maintaining a reliable service, balanced against your rights

Keeping records required by law | Compliance with a legal obligation

Establishing or responding to legal claims | Legitimate interests in protecting legal rights, where appropriate

Optional advertising processing for which consent is required | Your consent through the applicable privacy controls

Google’s own purposes and legal bases are described in its notices. Our use of a particular basis does not authorise every activity by another provider. We do not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects solely through automated processing.

8. Sharing, security and international processing

We do not operate a business selling support messages or saved audio profiles. Information can nevertheless be processed by the providers described above, including Google Play, Google advertising services, our email provider and any service you select when sharing or exporting. We may disclose necessary information to advisers or authorities when reasonably needed for legal obligations or claims.

We use the protections provided by Android’s app storage and the services through which we handle information, and limit support information to what is needed. Google states that its advertising SDK encrypts transmitted data in transit. No storage or transmission method can promise absolute security.

Provider processing may take place outside the UK. Google explains its international-transfer arrangements, including relevant adequacy decisions and contractual safeguards, in its data-transfer information (https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks). Where we arrange a restricted transfer, we must use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism. Contact us for details about the arrangements relevant to information we hold.

9. How long information is kept

Local preferences and cached records remain until replaced, removed through available app controls, or deleted by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. Temporary visualiser information is not retained as a recording. Exported files remain wherever you save them until you delete them there.

We keep support correspondence while needed to resolve the request and related follow-up. Relevant portions may be retained longer where needed for a purchase dispute, legal claim or record-keeping duty; unnecessary attachments and diagnostic details should not be retained just because other records are needed. We assess retention by whether the issue is still open, any applicable dispute or legal period, and whether the information remains necessary.

Google and other independent providers apply their own retention rules. Deleting the app does not automatically delete Google purchase or advertising records, emails already sent, or files you exported. Please contact us if you want us to review or delete information we hold.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on the information, purpose and applicable law, you may have rights to access and correct personal information, request deletion or restricted use, obtain a portable copy, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without changing the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Email auraforgelabssupport+auralift@gmail.com to exercise rights relating to information we handle. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained where the law permits or requires this; we will explain any limitation. For data held only on your device, the relevant controls are normally in the app or Android settings.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office through the ICO complaints service (https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/), or to your relevant local data-protection authority.

11. Intended audience

Auralift is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not ask for your date of birth or operate an Auralift user-account system. This intended audience does not mean that we verify every user's age.

12. This policy website

These policy pages are hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub logs and stores visitors' IP addresses for security purposes, including visits made without a GitHub account. These pages do not include analytics scripts, advertising, forms or embedded third-party content. See GitHub's Pages data-collection information (https://docs.github.com/en/pages/getting-started-with-github-pages/what-is-github-pages#data-collection) and GitHub's Privacy Statement (https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement).

13. Changes

We will update this policy when relevant features or data practices change, show the effective date, and bring significant changes to your attention as appropriate. An updated notice does not replace consent where fresh consent is required.

Document languages

These documents are available in English, Spanish and French. You can select the document language and save a copy. Translations are intended to describe the same terms and practices. Contact us if wording is unclear; language selection does not restrict your mandatory rights.
